LAB was first formed in 2007, and among all our activities we became best known for our strategic use of panties to weaken the SPDC military junta terrorizing Burma.

1. Here you will find a brief overview of pantidates who have flung themselves into the Burmese junta’s trick election for 2010.

If you see a pantidate that you like, someone who you would like to lobby for… well… just begin really. Sort out your panties…tell a friend or a neighbor…make a badge or a hat and wear it….have a panty party…organize an egg and spoon race…set up a postal vote stand at the nearest Burmese Embassy…start to collect people who will be ready to vote for your pantidate … it is not what you do, so much as that you do make a mockery of the junta’s mock elections…

Please send any comments, photos, sketches or stories about your events, big or small either by post, email, joining on face book or Htwee us.

New pantidate profiles will appear regularly along with LPP announcements, polls, bulletins and updates. However, if you can’t quite find that special pantidate you can relate to…or perhaps you fancy taking on the SPDC more directly…or maybe always wanted to try your pants at politics …well stand by …LPP will be taking applications for new pantidates in the coming months. In the meantime seek out your constituency…prepare your pantfolio….and plan to sign our pantifesto!

Madam Panty (MP)

The Right Honorable

Wicked Witches V-string (WWV)

Founding Party Member and Top Drawer

Ethnicity: Shan Witch, Burma
Education: WWV learned to harness and direct her powers at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Jungle Campus, where she graduated with Doctorate in Witchcraft: Thesis “Flight and Fight”

Political background and history: Since graduating MP WWV has become a decorated veteran campaigner with more medals than Than Shwe festooned about her khaki knickers. WWV’s credentials are impeccable. Behind Than Shwe’s back and sometimes under his nose she has used her sorcery to remove the all the amulets he has had placed inside many of Burma’s pagodas. MP Panties Galore plans to secure the 2012 Olympics for Burma. With the generals out of the way Nay Pyi Taw will make the perfect Olympic Village. Panties Galore predicts a fair share of Gold Medals for the people of Burma who have been in training for 2 decades running, lifting weights, hurdling barricades, swimming and leaping over borders.

Key Role in LPP Seven Day Road Map
Given her signature issue of recreation MP Panties Galore will have a major role in the election victory celebrations… One Township One Party.

Madam Panty (MP)
The Right Honorable
Cutie Panty

Founding Party Member and Top Drawer

Political background and history: Another made-in-Burma Pantidate, local girl MP Cutie Pants is a one of our naughtiest politicians. I will keep a firm grip on it…an iron hand in a rubber glove!

PNN: Will you allow International Erection Observers?

Than Shwe: Well of course Barking Mad and Gumball--

PNN: Do you mean Ban Ki Moon and Gambari.?

Than Shwe: Yes, yes, that’s them… they are pleading to be allowed to watch. I am so popular I get emails offering help for my erection difficulties from all over the world every day. However I think the little woman, my wife, Kyiang Kyiang, has been waiting for this day a long time. She is a keen observer of erections so the honor should go to her. We don’t need any foreign help with this.

PNN: We heard you asked that people “refrain from smear campaigns and avoid personal attacks”. Anything in particular concerning you?

Than Shwe: Well when I was a young lad at school I was involved in an erection that got out of control. The teasing can be terrible you know if one’s erection isn’t yet well-formed. I want to avoid that.

PNN: And the “smear campaigns”?

Than Shwe: Well some idiot NGO was talking about running a PAP smear campaign for women…how is a man supposed to have a successful erection with those kind of smear campaigns going on! Women’s health can wait till I’ve had my big erection!

PNN: Speaking of women, we have heard that Lanna Action for Burma would like to play a part in holding your erection. How would you feel about that?

Than Shwe: I’m no prude…any group who wishes to carry out some mature party orgyanizing work…will have my blessing. But remember…a good erection is very hard and can be quite tricky to pull off!

PNN: Umm…yes thank you Than ShweUnknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2853314824554542653.post-81546785991214398662008-10-23T23:24:00.007+07:002009-03-01T22:51:04.093+07:00Sarong Revolution

If this is the power they believe we have, then this is the power we will use against them.
You will be sending your panties as a clear message to the military junta and also sending donations directly to help the people of Burma affected by Cyclone Nargis. All donations will be sent to groups on the Thai Burma border who are working with victims of the humanitarian crisis inside Burma. Last birthday, February 2006, Than Shwe was awarded third place in the “World’s 10 Worst Dictators” list. This year Burma supporters around the world are gathering to make sure Than Shwe has an Unhappy Bad Day, rather than a Happy Birthday.

Every year, Than Shwe marks his birthday by giving alms to some monks. This year he may not find any monks who are willing to come for this farcical birthday ceremony. He believes that, even he has been a bad boy all his life, he can cheat fate by making merit and using “Yadayachay”. Yadayachay involves holding ceremonies that supposedly trick the gods into believing something has already come to pass. For example a fake funeral will be held to ward off death. The Generals of Burma try to use Yadayachay to avoid the consequences of their sins but the extent of their wrongdoings has eclipsed all the powers of any Yadayachay ceremony. Time has run out for Than Shwe.

A well respected fortune teller has foreseen that within 2008, “Than Shwe will face a threat to his wealth and personal security from a trusted person or a group.” Where will the betrayal of Than Shwe begin? A reliable military source says that Light Infantry Division 66 (LTD 66) is his most trusted Division.

“Although we know an end of Than Shwe’s power is so very close we still would like to mark this day. Today, as the people of Burma and the international community, wait expectantly for democratic reforms in Burma, she is still kept prisoner in her house.

Following UN Special Envoy Ibrahim Gambari’s mission to Burma, the military junta has appointed an officer, Mr Aung Kyi, to start dialogue with the opposition. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi said in a statement read out by Gambari in Singapore that “In the interest of the nation, I stand ready to cooperate with the government in order to make this process of dialogue a success” She said that for meaningful dialogue she needed to consult not only her political party but also the ethnic peoples of Burma.

On Friday, the junta allowed her to meet with three senior members of her party, the National League for Democracy. This is the first time she has been allowed to meet with members of her party in the last three years. Afterwards she met again with the mediator, Mr Aung Kyi and she said that it is time for the “healing process” to start.

We call on ASEAN leaders to urge the Burmese regime to start the healing process by freeing Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners. Genuine dialogue is not possible while Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and many of the leaders of the opposition are held behind prison walls, including the moral opposition, the monks and nuns.

The UN has called on the military junta to “create the necessary conditions, for a genuine dialogue” with Aung San Suu Kyi. 'Panty' Demonstration Held in Rangoon; Anti-junta PamphletsThe Irrawaddy
Posters Distributed By Wai Moe
November 8, 2007

About 40 people held a brief "panty" protest in downtown Rangoon on Thursday, holding pictures of junta Snr-Gen Than Shwe’s covered by panties, according to an 88 Generation Students member.

The demonstration took place on Bo Aung Kyaw Street in the commercial district of the city, a witness said.

“When security forces arrived, the protesters had already gone,” he told The Irrawaddy.
Since late October, international activists have launched a "panties campaign" against the Burmese military government, playing off the superstition of leading generals who are said to fear being touched by women.

Sources in Rangoon said a new activist group called the Generation Wave has been distributing anti-junta pamphlets and posters in different areas of the city.

On Wednesday, anti-junta slogans appeared on walls in several neighborhoods, said a Rangoon resident.

The abbreviations, CNG (Change New Government) and FFF (Freedom From Fear) have been spray painted on walls.

According to one witness, “Protestors also wrote on walls that evil people who kill monks must die.”

Young people also distributed anti-junta pamphlets in Thamine in Mayangone Township in Rangoon. On Tuesday in Sanchaung Township in Rangoon, copies of state-run-newspapers were burned in protest, according to another source, who said there were also small protests on city trains when people shouted out that people who kill monks must die.

A member of the 88 Generation Students group told The Irrawaddy on Thursday that demonstrations may resume if the junta fails to resolve the current crisis.

http://www.irrawaddy.org/article.php?art_id=9262Unknownnoreply@blogger.com
